Argentina has strong chances of organizing the 2011 Dakar Rally

During the arrival of the Dakar Rally in San Juan, Argentina; Enrique Meyer, Secretary of Tourism for Argentina ventured a favorable prognosis about the possibility of re-organizing the competition in 2011.

"This week we came half way to being re-elected as organizers of the Dakar Rally 2011 edition and have strong hopes of being able to do so" said Meyer, accompanied by the governor of San Juan, José Luis Gioja.
The Secretary of Tourism explained  that the key to the successful organization in 2009 and 2010 was the security and logistics provided, as well as the massive influx of people that this event generates. These conditions greatly enhance the possibility of the 2011 competition being held in the country.

"With the implementation of the Dakar Rally, Argentina acquired an excellent reputation in the world, not only by providing a diversity of landscapes, but also by ensuring the safety and quality of the route” said Meyer
